The Christmas Bureau is designed to streamline assistance and prevent duplication of services, ensuring that more families receive the help they need.
Applicants will be assigned to agencies based on their zip code. Every applicant must provide a letter of verification showing they receive SNAP or Medicaid benefits. Please upload all the correct documents. This includes a food stamp verification letter or copies of medical cards for everyone in your household who wishes to receive services.

FAQ
How will I know that I'm approved?
You will get a letter from your toy/food provider informing you about distribution. The Christmas Bureau will reach out to you only if there are issues with your application. If you don't hear from the Christmas Bureau, you should assume your application is approved and await notification from your provider.
What counties are covered?
The United Way of Central West Virginia Christmas Bureau covers Kanawha, Boone, and Putnam Counties. If you are outside of this service area, please call 211 to find resources in your area.
What documents do I need?
You will need one of the following: a food stamp verification letter listing everyone's name who wishes to receive toys and/or food OR a copy of everyone's medical cards. A food stamp card CANNOT be used.
When is the deadline?
Deadlines vary by provider, so you should submit your application ASAP. Please see below for deadlines.
Can I apply for a grandchild?
You can apply for grandchildren as long as you are the legal guardian of that child, and have the documents listed above.
