We are excited to announce the launch of United We Prepare, a new statewide initiative designed to strengthen disaster preparedness, community resiliency, and nonprofit coordination across West Virginia.
Made possible through a national grant from Verizon and United Way Worldwide, United We Prepare will establish two regional Resiliency Centers in Fairmont and Charleston that will serve communities across all 55 counties of our state.
West Virginians know the importance of coming together during times of crisis. Whether facing floods, severe storms, public health emergencies, or other challenges, our communities have repeatedly demonstrated resilience and compassion. United We Prepare builds on that strength by creating a coordinated network of nonprofits, community organizations, local governments, and emergency response partners working together before disaster strikes.
Through this initiative, we will:
• Establish two regional Resiliency Centers serving communities statewide
• Host preparedness and resiliency workshops throughout West Virginia
• Provide training and technical assistance for nonprofits and community partners
• Strengthen communication and coordination during emergencies
• Create opportunities for resource sharing and collaborative planning
• Convene a statewide preparedness conference focused on nonprofit community resilience
This initiative represents a significant investment in West Virginia's future and reflects our shared commitment to building stronger, more prepared communities. We invite organizations, community leaders, businesses, and residents to join us as we work together to create a more resilient West Virginia. More information will be coming soon, but in the meantime be sure to bookmark unitedwepreparewv.org.
United is the way we prepare. United is the way we respond. United is the way we recover.
United is the way!
Sincerely,
