Day of Caring 2021 Matches Over 600 Volunteers with Area Improvement Projects

Volunteers from Businesses and Volunteer Groups Tackle Projects Wednesday, September 15

CHARLESTON, WV:  United For GOOD is the theme as we celebrate our sixteenth year matching volunteers of all ages with area service projects.  On Wednesday, over 600 individuals representing over 70 businesses and organizations will work in five counties to improve the lives of those who need it most. Fifty-eight onsite projects will be tackled by eager members of the community, while over 150 individuals are participating in virtual projects. The virtual projects include: baby supply collection, pet supply collection, food collection and the creation of literacy kits.

United Way Day of Caring is the largest one-day volunteer event in central West Virginia. The event has grown since 2006 when 26 teams worked on 30 projects. That year, just 230 volunteers participated. Thanks to our Platinum Sponsor DOW, Gold Sponsor Unicare Health Plan of WV, Suddenlink Business and BB&T now Truist for their continued support.

An AFTER PARTY sponsored by Suddenlink will be held 3pm-6pm outdoor at United Way of Central WV. Plan to stop by and join us for a picnic, photos and games.
