The West Virginia Lesbian and Gay Coalition (WVLGC) was established in 1992 as a membership organization by West Virginians concerned about the discrimination faced by lesbians, gay men, bisexual men and women, and transgender persons. WVLGC works toward equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender citizens in the State of West Virginia. Every person has a right to live free from the threats of violence and discrimination regardless of sexual orientation. The Coalition celebrates diversity and is committed to breaking down the racial, cultural and class barriers that divide society, working toward the elimination of all forms of injustice.
