The West Virginia Hate Crime Task Force is a working group of representatives from Federal, State, and Local law enforcement departments, human right agencies and civil rights organizations. The WV Hate Crime Task Force is a project of the West Virginia Human Rights Commission. The WV Hate Crimes Task Force plans and implements initiatives in eliminating hate motivated crimes throughout West Virginia. A Hate Crime is a criminal act. A Hate Crime can take the form of violence, intimidation, and/or vandalism. Hate Crimes are committed because of intolerance to a person's race, religion, ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, sex, or ethnicity.
