Program/Service Notes:
Provides recorded cassette books, braille books, large print books and descriptive videos for blind and physically handicapped individuals and for reading disabled individuals. Also provides a dialup newspaper service using a standard telephone. Part of the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and Library of Congress. Free playback equipment (on loan) is provided and materials are sent postage free. Individuals must be certified as unable to see to read or unable to physically hold a book to read. Individuals with a reading disability, must have their applications certified by a doctor of medicine or a doctor of osteopathy.
