Program/Service Notes:
The Regional Long-term Care Ombudsman Program is a federal and state mandated program that advocates for the health, safety, welfare and rights of residents of long-term care facilities. This includes residents of nursing homes, extended care units of hospitals, personal care homes, residential board and care homes and "registered unlicensed" homes. This involves investigating complaints and resolving problems on behalf of residents or monitoring facilities. Unannounced visits are made to facilities to meet with residents and staff to see that residents' needs are being met. There is NO CHARGE for the service and the complainant's identity is confidential.
