Information and Referral
304.414.4405 is a number you want to remember if you are looking for affordable housing, quality day care, utility assistance, or if you are dealing with a personal crisis, struggling with addiction, or seeking help with an aging parent. Information and Referral maintains a database of community resources for Boone, Clay, Kanawha, and Putnam counties. While the office does not provide direct assistance, the staff will assist you in finding the best services available to meet your needs. The service is free, fast, and confidential.
Information and Referral also oversees the annual Christmas Bureau, which was established to coordinate the efforts of the community in its holiday giving, assists with the Charleston Daily Mail's "Neediest Cases" and is a partner with WV 211, the statewide Information and Referral.
The staff at Information and Referral remains involved in a variety of community activities, including FEMA, Rebuilding Together, United Way Day of Caring, West Virginia Mountain AIRS Information and Referral, Volunteer West Virginia, and educational fairs.
