United Way Announces Results
of 2007 Work Place Giving Campaign
Community Donations Exceed Total Raised in 2006 by more than $120,000
Representatives from United Way of Central West Virginia announced that the community had exceeded the goal of its annual work place giving campaign, raising $2,848,209 in 2007. That tops the amount raised in 2006 by more than $120,000. Over the past four years, donor contributions through United Way of Central West Virginia have totaled nearly $11 million.
“As a result of last-minute efforts on the community’s behalf, we have met and exceeded our goal for the second year in a row,” said United Way President and Chief Professional Officer John M. Ballengee. “In sports, they may call that a dynasty. In Central West Virginia, we call that caring for our neighbors. We are blessed to have a community of generous all stars on our team."
